During the April Science Week in our school, Grades 2a and 2b students showed interest in different experiments. They have been studying various parts of plants and their functions. The most popular experiments were those with the stems of the plants. These experiments were performed both in class and at students’ homes. The students were awe-stricken observing how the colored water traveled through the stems and tiny tubes in the plants and made the white flowers change their colors. This process is called Capillary Action. Putting a colored dye in the water in the vase allowed them to observe capillary action at work. This was the main aim of the experiment.
